The 1946 Wheat Penny is appreciated because of its historical value after the World War II, and because it belongs to the series of Lincoln Wheat cent (1909-1958). It was made of bronze and has President Lincoln on the first side and the stalks of wheat on the back side. The minting of coins was done in large numbers of more than a billion coins but coins that are in mint or uncirculated condition are also the most treasured by collectors. Worth of the penny is determined by mint mark, grade and color (red, red-brown, or brown). Although they are relatively frequent and circulated, uncirculated coins with a grade of MS65 or more have gained high values, and thus the 1946 Wheat Penny is owned by many collectors.
