INTRODUCTION

The EFFUSE Virtual Laboratory is a free educational portal that provides insight into the life of streams and offers support materials for the development of ecological consciousness. It explains the dynamics of ecological events and informs about the basic biomonitoring of streams by monitoring the representation of organisms in and around water. Educational videos and interactive simulations show the morphological adaptations of organisms to the environment and the relationships between organisms that are part of a single whole - the aquatic ecosystem.

Explore the world of streams, their quality and the state of the environment near them from the point of view of a zoologist, botanist or microbiologist. The unique appearance of organisms, which often remain unnoticed, reveals the secrets of nature. Explore new research opportunities in the form of targeted biomonitoring of streams. The laboratory includes specific advice for tasks in the field with detailed instructions supplemented with interesting illustrations and a field guide of the organisms found.
