Is it better to buy a Toyota CH-R from a local dealer?

Hey everyone, I’ve been checking out the Toyota CH-R lately and wanted to get some opinions from those who’ve owned or test-driven it. It seems like a great mix of sporty looks and everyday practicality kind of that middle ground between a compact hatchback and a small SUV.
Compared to other used cars I’ve seen, like the Honda HR-V or Mazda CX-3, the CH-R feels a bit more unique in design, but I’ve heard mixed things about rear visibility and cargo space. The driving comfort and build quality seem solid, though, especially for something in its price range.
I’m also wondering how it stacks up in long-term reliability and fuel economy compared to similar used Japanese crossovers. Some say Toyota engines last forever, but does that hold true for the CH-R too?
If you’ve owned one or driven both the CH-R and its rivals, what’s your take? Would you go for the Toyota CH-R or pick something else in the same category?
