The first video conference of the project teams took place on December 14, 2021 online, via the MS Teams platform. It was attended by members of the research teams of both parties involved in the project.

The following issues were discussed within the conference program and the following conclusions were agreed:
  • Current status of the project website.
    The team of the Ukrainian side approved the content division as well as the graphics of the presented website, stating:
    • The Ukrainian team will ensure the translation of the published information for the Ukrainian version of the website,
    • will continuously provide information on the research carried out in the field, work with educational materials with students and teachers, as well as related photographic material for the website gallery;
  • A template for educational materials and a proposal Water Quality Survey methodology.
    The members of both project teams agreed on the design and content of the presented template for the upcoming educational materials.

      • Detection of the presence of micro-organisms.
      • Detection of the presence of plants.
      • Detection of the presence of invertebrates and vertebrates.
    • The project team of the co-investigator approved the proposed content and objectives of the individual methodologies, as well as the form and content of the worksheets. These materials will be continuously communicated with the experts on behalf of the co-investigators and, once finalized, will be sent to it for translation into the Ukrainian language.
The following ideas and suggestions were made during the discussion:
  • to strengthen the mutual cooperation of experts on both sides through working visits for the purpose of personal contact, presentation of surveyed sites and obtaining immediate information from the field depending on the pandemic situation;
  • to include a demonstration of the diversity of nature in the protected area as part of the field activities;
  • to expand the biomonitoring of the given localities also with the use of knowledge about lichens,
  • in microbiology, consider complementing research on staphylococci;
  • try to use the samples obtained by students in all disciplines - for all disciplines;
  • educational material should be set up comprehensively, usable for different groups of students, who can thus share their experiences and compare the obtained results;
  • educational materials will be consulted with teachers from practice, the proposed methodologies will be verified in the field in the presence of experts in order to improve cooperation and quality of sampling and their subsequent analysis as planned in the project.
